  • How do I become a seller?

    Anyone over the age of 18 can be a seller! Click the "Sell a Costume" button in the top menu or under the Quizk Links menu at the bottom of the CostumesXchange website. 

  • Do you allow guest checkout?
    Yes. You can choose not to create a profile, but you are recommended to do so as all your delivery details will be saved in your account. Any future purchases that you make will become much faster and simpler. Information necessary to fulfill your order, like your shipping address, will be provided to sellers.
  • I forgot my password. How do I reset it?
    Click the Forgot Your Password button on the Seller Login page.
  • How is commission calculated?
    Our standard commission rate is 10%. This is calculated as 10% of the sum of the item price plus the shipping price. Occasionally, we will offer discounted commission to sellers. The discounted rate will be calculated the same way as the standard rate, by replacing the standard rate with the discounted rate.  
  • How do I arrange for local pickup?
    Once the payment has been made, you will receive the customer's delivery address. If you think delivery would be a more efficient option for fulfillment, please reach out to the customer to see if they will accept local pickup or delivery. If not, please fulfill the order using the shipping method they selected.
  • Do you collect sales tax on our behalf?
    No. Sales tax collection is the responsibility of the individual seller. Sales tax should be wrapped into the item price because it is not charged as a separate line item. For instance, if your local sales tax rate is 5%, and you sell an item for $105, $100 is the item price, and $5 is the sales tax. Shipping charges are not taxed. It is your responsibility as a seller to report and remit any and all sales tax that you collect to your local government entity. Please consult with your tax attorney or accountant for further guidance about any sales tax obligations you may have.
  • Will I be charged additional transaction fees when conducting a sale?
    No. As the seller, the only deduction you will see from your payout is the seller commission. There are no "per transaction" fees. As a courtesy to our buyers and sellers, CostumesXchange will bear the burden of credit card transaction fees. 
  • What if a customer requests a refund?

    All sales made on CostumesXchange are considered to be final and binding. Thus we do not accept any order cancellations once the order has been paid. Customers can contact the seller directly if they need to have their order cancelled. It is the seller’s discretion whether they will allow a cancellation and provide a full refund. Please keep in mind that the seller commission collected by the CostumesXchange is a fixed commission for facilitating a sale and thus will not be refunded. 
    In rare cases where an item has significant discrepancies from the item description or is undelivered after the customer has paid, the customer may be entitled to a refund. Please refer to our dispute policy for more information.

  • What if a customer requests a refund?

  • Am I responsible for cleaning items prior to shipping?
    Yes, Sellers are expected to clean and/or sanitize all items for customer safety. Please clean/sanitize items prior to listing, in case the cleaning process results in damage. If an item incurs damage after a sale but prior to shipping, please contact the customer directly to discuss an appropriate resolution.
  • Why is my listing deleted/banned?
    If any product does not adhere to the product policies in our Terms of Use, CostumesXchange reserves the right to delete/ban it to maintain a comfortable and safe environment for all users.
  • What Items are Prohibited on CostumesXchange?

    This policy is part of our Terms of Service. By selling on CostumesXchange, you are agreeing to this policy and our Terms of Use.
    CostumesXchange requires all sellers and users to abide by the laws of the jurisdictions in which you are operating and selling. If you are shipping items across international borders, we expect all members to follow the local laws of both the exporting and importing countries.
    Therefore, even if an item is illegal in one country but legal in another, it would still be strictly prohibited in CostumesXchange. CostumesXchange does not allow any listing that through images or descriptions facilitate or promote illegal acts when applied under a specific context.
    CostumesXchange expects all users to only list items that are legal. All items must not present legal risks to our community, be inconsistent with CostumesXchange values or harmful to our members.
